Description
An assortment of small 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" original photographs from July 15th 1933 of the official road dedication ceremony. These are all originals from the original negatives which are long since gone. These are not professional photographs so the quality reflect that fact. These photographs show a different view of the proceedings that day. The photo taker was one of the crew that worked on the pass, and was part of the pictured CCC crew included in the grouping.Offers are always welcome.
On the day of the dedication ceremony, held at logans pass, park cooks prepared a lunch for 2500 people, and ran out of Chili when over 4000 people actually showed up for the event. There were a number of dignitaries from the U.S. and Canada including members of the Blackfeet, Salish and Kootenai Tribes, some of whom can be seen in these rare images.
The woman in the photograph can be seen in the very limited number of photographs available entitled "Visitors Eating Lunch in the Meadows". You simply cannot mistake that striped shirt and hat. The note on the back of the photo says "Just a girls picture at Logan Pass I snap for the fun of taking it because she would not let me take her picture". The parks archive of the woman is 5528
