Based on the 1922 novella by Stefan Zweig, about a pianist in 1900s Vienna who receives an important letter from a woman from his past, and must figure out how to escape a duel he is due to fight the next morning. The first film produced by Rampart Productions, an independent company formed by Fontaine and her husband William Dozier.
